Lionel
Lofton b.1954
Texas Southern University; Prairie View A&M
University, B.A.; University of Houston, M.A.
The imagery of Lionel Lofton often illustrates
the concepts of inner strength, spirituality, beauty, family and children.
His paintings and prints have a quiet and introspective air about them,
not unlike their creator. His work
certainly bears the influence of Dr. John Biggers, under whose insightful eye
Lofton studied at Texas Southern University.
It is interesting to note that so many of the participating artists in
the Resounding Heart Portfolio also choose to dedicate a portion of
their lives to the education of future generations. Lionel Lofton also brings his insight and passion to the
academic world via the Texas Public School System.
